Is ManhwaRead free to use?
Yes — ManhwaRead is free. You can browse, review and rate stories without an account; signing in lets you save your library, sync progress across devices, and comment.
Do I need an account?
No account is required to browse synopses, ratings and reviews. To save your library, track progress and comment, sign in with Google or Discord — it takes a few seconds.
What are extensions and how do I add one?
Extensions are sources you add yourself that provide catalogs, chapters and links to where you can read or buy a title. ManhwaRead ships with no sources by default — you choose which to install from the Extensions page, so your library is yours. Adding one unlocks its catalog instantly.
Do I need an extension to read?
Yes. The built-in catalog is for discovery — synopses, ratings and reviews. To actually open and read chapters you must install at least one source extension from the Extensions page. Without one, a story page will show its details but no readable chapters.
What is the difference between manhwa, manhua and manga?
Manhwa are Korean comics (usually full-color vertical webtoons), manhua are Chinese comics, and manga are Japanese comics (usually black-and-white, read right-to-left). ManhwaRead covers all three.
How often are new chapters added?
New chapters appear as soon as the sources behind each extension publish them — often daily. Add a series to your library to keep track of its latest updates.
Can I read on my phone?
Yes. ManhwaRead is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — you can install it to your home screen on iOS and Android for a native-style, full-screen reading experience with a bottom tab bar.
Where does the content come from?
Content is provided through user-added metadata and external sources via third-party extensions. ManhwaRead does not host licensed content. If you are a rights holder, see our DMCA and takedown pages to request removal.
